Spink Shreves March 2010 Collector's Series Sale is filled with an
exceptional range of highly desirable United States, British Empire and
Worldwide postage stamps and postal history. As always, several name

The F. Christian Killien, M.D. Collection of Premium Quality United States
Plate Blocks. A most extraordinary offering of U.S. plate number blocks in
exceptional condition. All having been selected for their outstanding
centering, freshness, intact perforations, and pristine gum – the vast
majority being full top positions.
The John Whitmore Collection of Used United States Postage Stamps.
Many of the scarce used stamps in the sale come from this valuable
collection, including elusive used coils, as well as a very nice run of
revenue stamps.
The Conrad Stieber Collection of Worldwide Stamps. An exciting,
comprehensive collection of worldwide stamps, 1840 to 1940, largely

The Estate of Nicholas G. Carter. A fascinating assemblage of worldwide
material formed by the beloved former President of the American Philatelic

The Kent Wilson Collection of United States Stamps. A real philatelist’s
collection of 19th century United States stamps, with many scarce issues,
varieties and postal history.
The Estate of Floyd E. Risvold. Further offerings from this legendary

in this catalogue with many general British Empire Commonwealth collections and one country
collections. European countries include many highlights and collections from France,
French colonies, Germany and colonies, Netherlands, Hungary, Italy and Italian
states & colonies, Belgium and colonies, Portugal and Switzerland. In
the Italian colonies and States there are some rarities from Fiume, Sardinia, Somalia
and from Tuscany. A rare German New Guinea 1913 Zeppelin 1 MK Fundraising stamp. There are
many single stamps and sets from many European countries including Switzerland. The Asian region
is well represented with China-Liberated Areas, China- Foreign Post Offices,
PRC China which includes a 1962 Mei Lanfang Minisheet Supurb MUH and a Imperforate set
of 8 MUH. Also a nice range of early Japan issues as well as Minisheets. The
central and South Americas are greatly represented in this auction. A collection
from Colombia 1859-1983, 1925-46 Air mail collection from Honduras, 1858-1971 mint
collection from Argentina and a mint collection 1856-1980 from Uruguay. Also many

This sale contains a large section of classic Norway, extensive Denmark with
rare specializations, strong Iceland as well as good sections of
Sweden and other Scandinavian areas incl. railway stamps and unusual
fiscal stamps. Highlights are rare classic covers, even rare Danish West
Indies, rare classic blocks, good sections of censor mails,Polar material and
first flights.
