Oliver H. Wolcott, Sr. was a delegate to the Continental Congress from Connecticut, 1775-78, 1780-84, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, served
in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, Deputy Governor of Connecticut, 1786-96, and Governor of Connecticut, 1796-97 dying in office.
