1857 (24 Sept.) envelope ex the Mottram correspondence from Otago to London, bearing 1/- pale yellow-green on blued paper bisected vertically with clear to good
margins on the three sides, neatly cancelled with superb "18" and showing light manuscript "6" in red crayon alongside London Paid c.d.s. (19.12), the reverse with clear despatch c.d.s.; the envelope with light vertical crease and portion
around the seal on reverse cut away. Extremely rare with only a handful of London print examples recorded, and the second earliest recorded date of use. R.P.S. Certificate (80,332, undated) states "Bisect has been removed and replaced". Sc. 3a; S.G.
