3 var., 8 var. |
#3 var., 8 var., 1841 1p Red brown imperforate, and 1854-55 1p Red brown perforated, marvelous specialized collection of Inverted "S" corner letters, a lifetime
accumulation of these fascinating and distinctive varieties, being a particular favorite of Mr. Cunliffe to seek out over the years, each with the bottom left corner "S" letter being inverted and collected by the various plates and differing check
letters, virtually all used, imperforates include fifteen singles, a strip of four (quite scarce) and two covers from plate 78, eight singles (one mint) and three covers from plate 105, six singles, a strip of three and an impressive strip of six
(all with inverted "S" positions, light crease, accompanied by a Royal certificate) from the especially elusive plate 107, two singles from plate 140 and one single each from plates 142 and 143, perforated 1854-55 stamps include six singles and one
cover from plate 5, collection concludes with six imperforate stamps identified as having an inverted "I", there is an occasional small fault, but most imperforates have four margins and many are fine-very fine or better; a highly desirable
collection that is quite conservatively estimated. (Image) |

some small faults including a pulled perf. and a small sealed tear, bit at top and not affecting this stamp's very fine appearance; a extremely scarce and seldom offered inverted center, in fact we believe this to be quite undercataloged considering
