3323		Select Strikes from the Calvet M. Hahn Collection of New York State Straightline and Unusual Town Handstamps. Approximately 150 folded letters/covers representing the "eye candy" of the Hahn New York stampless cover collection (the manuscript and plain circles were sold in previous auctions), includes 57 straightline markings, the others are ovals and circles which are ornate or unusual in some way, many in color, all chosen for the quality of the strike and the overall clean condition of the cover, almost every cover has a typed label with Mr. Hahn's copious notes UNIFORMLY VERY FINE TO EXTREMELY FINE. A LARGE AND VALUABLE GROUP OF NEW YORK STATE STAMPLESS COVERS WITH DESIRABLE STRAIGHTLINE, FANCY AND UNUSUAL TOWN MARKINGS. THE PRODUCT OF A LIFETIME OF STUDIOUS COLLECTING, COMBINED WITH OUR EFFORT TO SELECT THE FINEST STRIKES AND COVERS. Calvet M. Hahn was a student of New York State postal markings and accumulated covers simply to have a representative example of every marking. However, this lot is the result of our "distilling" process, designed to give bidders the opportunity to focus on the "cream" without the "chaff". It contains far too many highlights to name and very little unnecessary duplication. We strongly recommend careful examination.
