Original gum, h.r., brilliant color, strong second overprint just slightly displaced from first, three wide margins, just clear at right, tiny thin spot and light horizontal crease at top VERY FINE APPEARING AND RARE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1893 2-CENT ROSE WITH CATEGORY I DOUBLE BLACK PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT OVERPRINT. At least two sheets of the 2c Rose were doubly overprinted with Category I strength. A single with a skewed second impression is pictured at www.hawaiianstamps.com, where Fred Gregory notes it is the only one recorded. Ex Kharasch.
