1126		CANADA, 1859, 3p Brown Red (Unitrade 12i; SG 26). Part original gum (certificate states "trace" though it covers nearly half the stamp), magnificent centering for this notoriously difficult issue, intense shade and impression EXTREMELY FINE. A SENSATIONAL ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 3-PENCE IN THE BROWN RED SHADE. A RARE UNUSED STAMP IN ANY CONDITION, ESPECIALLY SOUND AND WELL-CENTERED. EASILY ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES EXTANT. This is the first original gum example we have offered since keeping computerized records. After careful review of other named-sales, we are unable to locate another comparable example to the example offered here - superbly centered, sound and with original gum. Large part original gum (certificate notes "traces" though it covers over half the stamp), bold color and strong impression, creased corner perf tip FINE. AN ESPECIALLY RARE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1859 6-PENCE PERFORATED ISSUE. The first perforated series of Canada invariably comes with perforations touching on at least one side due to the very narrow spacing between stamps.
