This is one of the most important collections of U.S. plate blocks ever formed. The owner attempted to acquire complete matched sets -- that is, a representative plate block for each and every position on a given plate. The Durland Catalogue is the standard reference work for plate block collecting.

The collector hunted for over 40 years to put this astounding collection together. Among the many highlights are Columbian plate blocks including the unique $5.00 plate block of eight, Bureau Issue dollar values, Trans-Mississippi, Pan-American, Jamestown, Bluish Paper, Washington-Franklins, Air Post including complete matched sets of Graf Zeppelin plate blocks for all plates, Parcel Post, Parcel Post Postage Due and others.
