387a |
#387a, 1959 5c St. Lawrence Seaway, Center Inverted, an exceptional quality example of this rarity, with large well balanced margins and strong fresh colors, tied
to a Bank of Nova Scotia voucher post card by two strikes (almost on top of one another) of "Toronto, Ontario/Aug 11 1959/Canada" slogan postmark, locally addressed to the Royal Bank of Canada, two different bank receiving markings on reverse,
clearly this error stamp was discovered by someone other than a philatelist, as a small bit of the corner of the card (with the stamp affixed) was cut out, fortunately the remaining portion of the card was not destroyed, and the two were neatly
reunited (with two pieces of scotch tape on the reverse, which has not soaked through) preserving its overall very fine appearance, the stamp itself is extremely fine; an important rarity of Canada, with only sixteen covers recorded to date
bearing the Seaway Invert. (Image) |

CL6d var. |
#CL6d var., 1926 (25c) red and yellow Jack V. Elliot Air Service, background of zigzag lines, imperforate, double impression of red printing, vertical pair, positions 4

top stamp (one a bit heavier) overall very fine; an extremely rare variety, as only two pairs are recorded with double impressions, however it is unknown to us if this is one of the two recorded, or if this is a unique example displaying both
the double impression and the inverted leaves in the bottom stamp; cataloged simply as the "normal" double impression error (Unitrade C$1,500.00+). (Image) |

of 16 covers all bearing a single franking of these distinctive air post semi-official stamps, what is especially desirable is that every single stamp displays the inverted leaf variety which is found on two positions in the sheet of eight
stamps, wonderful range of routes and dates, all franked on the front by 3c "Admiral" stamps (or three 1c "Admirals"), several with better flight cachets also tying the air post stamps on reverse, in addition three covers are signed by the pilot Jack
